Creating tickler files is a way of chronologically organising bits of data or information.
Generally, a tickler is made up of 42 folders all together, 12 folders labeled with each month in the year and 31 folders representing each day. You put the current month as the top folder and after that folder you have the current day. For example if it was the 8th February, you would have the February folder at the top followed by folder 8-29. If a days passes and it is the 9th of February then you put the folder 8 after the March folder and folders 1-7.
Tickler files can be used to make sure that you are have the correct information on a certain day or to remind yourself of something on a certain day. For example, if you had a meeting to go to on January 2nd you can put your documents into the tickler.
